A little about me, I was born and raised in San Jose, Ca but moved to the central valley with my wife in 2001 and now call Stockton, CA home.
Aside from my artwork I am a fulltime TSE(Technical Support Engineer) for Red Hat Software based in Raleigh, NC. As of 2014 I have been working from home full time which has allowed me to not only get back to my artwork but also get involved with community organizations and functions associated to the arts.
In regards to my art, I have no formal training or education in art aside from high school art classes and community workshops put on by local artist friends. The majority of my experience has been a result of both self taught and appreciation of a select few well known artists. There are three highly influential Artists who's work I have always admired and found inspirational. My biggest influences and personal favorite artists have been world famous political muralists, David Alfaro Siqueros, Jorge Gonzalez Camarena, and José Clemente Orozco. After a trip I took to Mexico City in 2006 to see all of their murals at the famous “Castillo De Chapultepec” and “Bellas Artes”, I was immediately inspired and motivated to get back into my artwork.
I've exhibited in the Bay Area, Central Valley, and Sierra foothills where majority of the wineries I create wine labels for are located. A few local venues that have exhibited my work are Stockton Metropolitan Airport, Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys CA, Lucas Winery in Lodi, the Kress Building in downtown Stockton, Bob Hope Theater in Stockton, and City Hall in Lathrop, CA.
At the moment, I primarily paint for a winery in Murphys, CA named “Bodega Del Sur Winery” where the theme in the tasting room is “Dia De Los Muertos”. This is why majority of my pieces are primarily skeleton themed.
